FC Barcelona are ready to listen to offers for their wingers Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha, SPORT has reported.
The Blaugrana have been warned that they must shave €200 million ($218 million) from the wage bill ahead of 2023/2024 and also want to raise money for new signings.
One way of doing this would be by imposing a mass salary reduction which the club is already considering according to Relevo.
Another is through player sales, and SPORT reports on Saturday that Barca’s misfiring widemen Ansu, Ferran and Raphinha are all candidates for the chopping block this summer.
Ansu was once seen as the future of the club and given a long-term contract with a €1 billion ($1.09 billion) release clause in 2021 plus Lionel Messi’s iconic number 10 shirt to support this.
This season, however, he is on the outside looking in and struggling for minutes while there is strong interest in him from Premier
PINC
As Ansu came through the La Masia academy like Messi, his sale is probably the most interesting out of the three as it would represent pure profit. Simultaneously, Barca are likely to lose money on both on both Ferran and Raphinha if they are moved on.
That Barca spent €55 million ($60 million) on Ferran in the January 2022 transfer window was a headscratcher then and has made less sense as time has gone on.
If president Joan Laporta and his board can’t sell Ferran outright for a similar fee, it might be possible to part exchange him or send him out on loan to the likes of Atletico Madrid or Inter Milan.
Raphinha’s form has been up and down since joining from Leeds United for a reported £50 million ($55 million) fee, but there have been promising moments from the Brazilian who still hasn’t completed a full campaign at Camp Nou.
Given interest in him from Chelsea, Arsenal and others in England, though, Barca’s financial predicament might push them to sell him in less than 12 months.
Yet of the three forwards, it is probably Fati and Ferran that Barca should look at shipping off first to give Raphinha at least another term to prove his worth.
