FC Barcelona officially announced its return to the Spotify Camp Nou in a statement sent to members of the press on Wednesday morning in Catalonia.
The club said that it will “return home” on August 10 with the men’s football first team, and “once again make the Spotify Camp Nou Vibrate”.
This is a milestone that “will mark the partial reopening of Barça’s new home, as part of the Espai Barça transformation project”.
“The return will take place on the occasion of the Joan Gamper Trophy, a very special event for Barça fans, more details of which will be announced soon,” the club added.
“This return represents a historic milestone for the Club and for Barça fans, since after more than two years of extensive renovation and temporarily playing away from home at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, they will once again experience the excitement of football in the Barça temple, in the heart of Les Corts. However, it should be noted that the return will take place while the works on the new Spotify Camp Nou continue, and it will be necessary to coexist with performances in different areas of the venue,” the Blaugrana warned.
Barça explained that among the parts of the stadium that need to be completed are the third stand, the double VIP ring, the new roof and the “final adaptation of some interior spaces” in addition to the “external urbanization” of the iconic ground’s surrounding area.
“During this stage, the Club will work to guarantee the maximum comfort of members and fans who visit the Spotify Camp Nou, facilitating access and adapting services to offer the best possible experience,” it vowed.
“To mark this milestone, FC Barcelona has launched an epic and emotionally charged campaign, under the slogan “We return home, we vibrate”. This campaign includes various actions and activations throughout the city and in digital environments, designed to strengthen the bond between the Club, the fans and the city of Barcelona, as well as the Barça fans around the world.
“With this return, FC Barcelona takes a symbolic and emotional step towards the future, reclaiming its home in a new stage that will culminate in the full inauguration of the new Stadium. An opportunity to feel again, to vibrate again, and to continue building the Barça of the future together,” the current La Liga champion concluded.
FC Barcelona has been away from the Camp Nou for more than two years
August 10 will see FC Barcelona return to its ground after more than two years away. It last played there to close a Spanish top flight-winning campaign in 2022/2023 under club legend Xavi Hernandez, and Culers have yearned for the day when they can watch Barça play at the Camp Nou once more.
