FC Barcelona New Signing Set To Arrive And Sign On Friday

FC Barcelona’s latest new signing will land in the Catalan capital to sign his contract on Friday according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources.

Barca pulled off a coup by managing to land Swedish youngster Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen for a few million dollars, who still needs to complete his medical.

Once this has been done, the prodigy of Moroccan descent can then officially become a new Barca player by sign his contract.

As Mundo Deportivo explains, the player with Champions League experience will land in Barcelona on Friday to perform the necessary medical exams and hopefully put pen to paper.

This should just be a formality, though it is worth noting that 19-year-old suffered a serious ACL injury in his right knee in 2024 and hasn’t long been back in the picture for his club.

That aside, Bardghji is said to be in great shape while fully recovered, and his new club reportedly has great confidence in his potential.

Usually a signing of this nature would head straight to the Barca Atletic reserve outfit or B team and then try and make the difficult step to Hansi Flick’s senior side.

Bardghji is joining at the perfect time, however, and a lack of options on the right wing or relief for Lamine Yamal means that he will have the chance to impress Flick in preseason training, which begins on the Spain winger’s 18th birthday i.e. July 13.

Flick has already reported to the Joan Gamper CT on Thursday, and will reportedly hold showdown talks with captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen and tell him that the German doesn’t feature in his first team plans for 2025/2026 after the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol.

Bardghji can perhaps enter those, however, by showing his worth to Flick in training. This might see him taken to Asia for a preseason friendly tour in the Far East, and perhaps staying with the seniors permanently as we previously saw with Pau Victor and the Marcs Bernal and Casado in 2024.

If FC Barcelona signs a left winger in the mould of Luis Diaz or Marcus Rashford, Bardghji could then battle Raphinha for minutes on the right whenever Lamine Yamal needs a rest.
