Fantasy Football Week 8: Flex Rankings (RB,WR,TE)

There are a ton of teams on bye in Week 8 of the fantasy football season, which makes this list extremely challenging. In Week 8, the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks are all on bye.

With that being the case, this ranking list is created so you can easily compare players on your team to make those tough start or sit decisions. These rankings are built primarily for PPR leagues, but they can be applied to Half-PPR leagues as well.

Notable Injury Updates

For Rachaad White, we’re assuming that Bucky Irving will still be out in Week 8. Emeka Egbuka will be ranked as if he’s playing in Week 8.

Must Start Wide Receiver: Romeo Doubs (GB)

When adding these must-start sections, the goal is to go beyond the obvious names. Romeo Doubs is quietly having a really good season this year.

Through six games, Doubs is averaging 13.1 PPG (PRR), and he’s had at least eight targets each of the past three weeks. The Green Bay Packers are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a solid matchup. The Packers are 3.5-point favorites, and the over/under is 44.5 per FanDuel.

Doubs has proven to be a name that you don’t want to leave on your bench any longer, and you should slot him into your FLEX spot at the very least.

Must Start Running Back: Kimani Vidal (LAC)

Following the Omarion Hampton injury, Kimani Vidal had 22.8 points in Week 6. In Week 7, though, Vidal was a bit disappointing with only 7.5 points.

Even so, you should plug him into your RB2 spot in Week 8. Vidal actually had more involvement as a receiver with five targets in Week 7, which is super important for PPR leagues.

The reason Vidal disappointed was that he only had 2.2 YPC in Week 7 versus 6.9 in Week 6. Based on how good Vidal looked in Week 6, expect that number to be somewhere in the middle for Week 8.

The game script is slightly favorable for Vidal as well. The Los Angeles Chargers take on the Minnesota Vikings as three-point favorites, and the over/under is at 44.5. Vidal is a strong RB2 this week in fantasy football.
