Eugenio Derbez And Ben Odell’s 3Pas Studios Inks Deal With ABC Signature

Eugenio Derbez and Ben Odell’s 3Pas Studios has signed a first-look deal with ABC Signature. Deadline reports that the deal is a multi-year deal and is for English-language TV content.

Derbez, Odell and 3Pas recently announced their second season of the Apple TV+ show Acapulco. The studio is also behind the recently released show La Noche Del Diablito on Vix+ and LOL: Last One Laughing, a Spanish language comedy competition show, on Prime Video. The studio has also announced that a new comedy, They Came At Night, is in the works for Vix+. The studio is also behind many of Derbez’s comedy films, including Overboard, How To Be A Latin Lover, and Hulu’s The Vallet. The studio also premiered a new movie, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, at the Toronto International Film Festival last month.

The studio has made an impressive foray into streaming and both Spanish and English comedy. English language shows and movies from the studio often feature Spanish and Latino culture. While the new deal is for English language content, Latino and Spanish language themes will most likely be present projects under the deal.

“Eugenio and Ben transcend culture through their diverse and inclusive storytelling, driven by their deep connection to talent and source material from Latin America,” said Jonnie Davis, president of ABC Signature. “We couldn’t be more excited to shepherd their next wave of brilliant and culture-defining English language projects at the studio.”

Under the deal, Derbez Odell and Sonia Gambaro, the VP of 3Pas’ English-language TV division, will oversee the “development, identify and source talent, ideas and IP for ABC Signature across all platforms.”

The deal is not the only one on the books for 3Pas. They also recently re-upped a first-look film deal with Lionsgate and have a deal with TelevisaUnivision for Spanish language content.
