Erling Haaland’s FC Barcelona Release Clause To Leave Manchester City In 2024

Erling Haaland can leave Manchester City in 2024 due to a special release clause that allows him to join FC Barcelona or bitter enemies Real Madrid.

The Norwegian is in scintillating form for the PremierPINC
League giants and has netted three consecutive hat tricks in his last three outings.

Smashing a number of records since switching allegiances from Borussia Dortmund in a £51mn ($57mn) deal in May, the 22-year-old is well on course to clinch the English top flight’s Golden Boot and surpass the highest amount of goals scored in a single season.

As the British press rant and rave about the Leeds-born striker, reports from Spain suggest that Haaland’s time at the Etihad might be short lived.

Though the youngster signed a five-year contract which runs until June 2027, El Chiringuito claim to have dropped a bombshell exclusive detailing how the arrangement contains a Real Madrid-only release clause.

In 2024, it is said, Haaland could move to the Bernabeu in what would be a major coup for Los Blancos after they were ditched at the altar by Haaland’s generational rival Kylian Mbappe when the Frenchman decided to extend his stay at Paris Saint Germain.

According to regular TV3 collaborator Oriol Domenech in Catalonia, though, the release clause pertains not only to Madrid but also arch rivals FC Barcelona.

Domenech also revealed the alleged fee that it would take to buy Haaland out of his City contract.

If accurate, the €200mn ($197.3mn) price tag, if met, would make Haaland the second-most expensive player of all time behind Mbappe’s Neymar.

In 2017, PSG changed the transfer market forever when activating the Brazilian’s €222mn ($219mn) release clause, and Barca have since learned their lesson by applying minimum €1bn termination fees to the new contracts signed by the likes of Ansu Fati, Pedri, and Gavi.

Barca courted Haaland before he signed for City, with coach Xavi Hernandez reportedly flying to Munich to explain his sporting project at Camp Nou to the number ‘9’.

With Lewandowski aged 34, signing Haaland in 2024 would be a perfect changing of the guard ahead of the Pole’s own terms expiring in 2026.
