Eminem Reaches A Momentous Milestone For The First Time

Earlier this month, Eminem’s greatest hits compilation Curtain Call turned 20. The hip-hop superstar dropped the project in early December 2005, and ever since then, it has remained a top performer in most English-speaking countries around the world. Eminem is especially popular in the United Kingdom, and his fans continue to consume the hits that turned him into a household name decades ago every day.

All those streams and sales – the focus being on streams – keep Curtain Call on the charts. This frame is special for the title, as the project reaches an incredible milestone, one which Eminem has never seen before across the Atlantic.

Curtain Call Reaches a Major Milestone

As of this moment, Curtain Call has spent 700 weeks on the Official Albums chart. That tally, comparable to the Billboard 200 in America, lists the most consumed albums and EPs throughout the U.K. The ranking employs a methodology that takes into account both purchases and streams, and there are a number of greatest hits sets that will seemingly never disappear because of how the roster is built.

Curtain Call is Easily Eminem’s Longest-Charting Album

Curtain Call is Eminem’s first release to make it to 700 weeks on the Official Albums chart. None of his other efforts that have landed on the 100-space roster have been able to make it to 200 frames.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Curtain Call 2, which followed the original more than 15 years later, is Eminem’s second longest-running hit, with 174 weeks somewhere on the list. Two other early-career wins, The Eminem Show and The Slim Shady LP, have also managed triple-digit stays, as they have earned 159 and 134 weeks on the chart, respectively.

Curtain Call Appears on Multiple Charts This Week

This frame, Curtain Call lives on a trio of charts in the U.K. The title dips to No. 30 on the Official Albums list, and the compilation can be found at No. 20 on the Official Albums Streaming roster and No. 23 on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums tally.

Curtain Call has spent 564 weeks as one of the most streamed releases in the U.K., and 935 stints on the genre-specific roster, where Eminem is one of the most successful names of all time.

Curtain Call Debuted at No. 1

Curtain Call debuted on the Official Albums chart in mid-December 2005, immediately arriving in the top space. The compilation spent its first five frames at No. 1, and it earned Eminem his fourth chart-topper in the country up to that point. He has gone on to collect a total of 11 No. 1 albums in the U.K.

Two of Eminem’s Albums Return to the Same Chart

As Curtain Call hits its milestone figure, two Eminem projects rebound and become bestsellers again. The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) and The Eminem Show bounce back onto the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart, landing 10 spaces apart from one another. The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), Eminem’s most recent full-length, reappears at No. 29, while The Eminem Show narrowly finds space on the tally as it comes in second-to-last place on the 40-position roster.

Eminem Claims Four Hip-Hop Bestsellers

Eminem fills four spaces on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart this frame. Curtain Call climbs half a dozen spots, while The Marshall Mathers LP dips and lands right between The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) and The Eminem Show, settling at No. 37.

Curtain Call 2 Trails the Original Curtain Call in Terms of Longevity

For fans of Eminem in the U.K., it appears that his earlier singles are still the favorites. While Curtain Call lives on three tallies, Curtain Call 2 only makes a home on a pair, and in lower spaces than its predecessor. Curtain Call 2 drops to No. 85 on the Official Albums chart and holds near the middle of the Official Albums Streaming list.
