For many instances, it happened when multi-billionaire SpaceX CEO Elon Musk showed his support for Dogecoin, resulting in a price surge.
Finally, the dream moment seemed to come true when recently SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Dogecoin would soon be started to be accepted in the form of payment for the firm. On similar occasions, Mush’s statements in the past had driven the price of popular meme coins to surge in its value within a short span of time. After the announcement, Dogecoin has spiked about 15% just after the news broke out; however, it soon gave away most of its gains.
However, Elon Musk did not mention any plans regarding the same method that would follow along with Starlink accepting Dogecoin but has assured that his SpaceX will soon start to accept payments in Dogecoin for its merch payments.
This came after the electric vehicle giant Tesla announced that it would start accepting Dogecoin as crypto payments for its merchandise. So now, the self-proclaimed Dogefather, Elon Musk, doubled down his faith in the meme coin Dogecoin by revealing on his Twitter post that SpaceX is another venture that CEO led and that the firm will accept Dogecoin soon as its payment option.
In his tweet, Elon Musk said that Tesla merchandise could be purchased with Dogecoin, and soon SpaceX merchandise will accept it too. However, there were no specifications provided by Musk about the availability of the payment option to the public. While someone asked if SpaceX will also allow its customers to pay for internet subscriptions of Starlink with dogecoin, Elon Musk replied on this, ‘Maybe one day.
Last year in May, SpaceX accepted payments in Dogecoin for its lunar mission that is dubbed as the ‘DOGE-1’ Mission that is planned to go to the moon. Further, Musk also noted that the meme coin Dogecoin would become the first crypto in space. Until writing, Dogecoin has a trading price slightly above $0.08.
