Drake Repeats A Rare Billboard Feat With One Of His Biggest Albums

For most musicians, keeping an album on a Billboard chart for dozens of weeks — if not 100 or more — is a major career milestone. It’s something to strive for, but not necessarily expect.

A title earning a lofty debut is no guarantee of long-term success. Many projects by superstars launch in high positions, only to vanish within a matter of weeks. For a full-length to remain on the Billboard 200 for hundreds of weeks requires sustained interest and a dedicated fan base that continues to stream the collection non-stop.

Drake is one of the few artists who can count on his studio LPs earning lengthy lifespans on the charts in the United States, particularly on the Billboard 200. This week, one of his more recent efforts reaches a remarkable milestone, one which he’s now hit multiple times before.

Certified Lover Boy Reaches a Huge Landmark

Certified Lover Boy has now spent 200 weeks on the Billboard 200. As it hits that landmark figure, the set climbs back into the upper half of the tally, rising from No. 102 to No. 98.

According to Luminate, the rapper’s solo effort moved 12,200 equivalent units in the latest tracking period, almost all of which came from streaming activity.

Drake’s Many 200-Week Charters

Drake has now seen seven different albums live on the Billboard 200 for at least 200 weeks. Certified Lover Boy is just one frame behind If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late in terms of length of time spent on the list. Since that project is no longer present on the Billboard 200, Certified Lover Boy will almost certainly tie it — and then surpass it — very soon.

Take Care Remains Drake’s Longest-Charting Project

Take Care stands as Drake’s longest-charting release by a wide margin, with 644 turns on the Billboard 200. Behind it are Nothing Was the Same (506 weeks), Views (477), More Life (387), and Scorpion (366).

Drake Occupies Many Spots on the Billboard 200

Certified Lover Boy is currently one of eight Drake albums that appear on the Billboard 200. While he drops out of the top 10 this frame with Some Sexy Songs 4 U, most of his seven other projects climb this week.
