World Liberty Finance (WLFI), the crypto venture linked to Donald Trump’s family, has announced a partnership with Ondo Finance to accelerate the adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWA). This collaboration aims to integrate traditional finance into blockchain technology by leveraging Ondo’s tokenized financial products.

As part of the partnership, WLFI is evaluating the inclusion of Ondo Finance’s tokenized products, such as the US Dollar Yield (USDY) token and Short-Term US Government Treasuries (OUSG), as reserve assets. The firm is also working toward incorporating these digital securities into its platform, which could enable lending and margin trading functionalities for users.
World Liberty Finance, known for significant Ethereum (ETH) investments, has recently pivoted toward Ondo Finance, signaling a shift in its strategy. The company recently spent $4.7 million USDC to acquire 342,000 ONDO tokens.
The purchase coincided with the launch of Ondo Chain, a permissioned Layer 1 blockchain designed for institutional-grade asset tokenization. Following this investment, ONDO’s price saw an upward movement, diverging from broader market trends where most major cryptocurrencies struggled.
Strategic Digital Asset Reserve Plan
Additionally, WLFI has disclosed plans to establish a strategic reserve comprising various digital assets. This announcement was made at the Ondo Finance Summit in New York, where WLFI co-founder Chase Herro outlined the company’s long-term vision for tokenization and decentralized finance (DeFi).
This initiative aligns with Trump’s increasing focus on the cryptocurrency sector, as he has advocated for clearer digital asset regulations and suggested the idea of a national Bitcoin reserve. WLFI’s latest move indicates a growing push toward mainstream institutional adoption of blockchain-based financial instruments.
