Dolly Parton & Garth Brooks To Host ACM Awards

Country superstars Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks are set to host this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards this May. It’s a return for Parton who co-hosted last year with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, but will be the first time Brooks has hosted an awards show.

“I am thrilled to host the ACM Awards, this time with my friend Garth,” says Parton. “While I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with him throughout the years, I can’t believe we’ve never had the time to work together.”

As for Brooks, he says, “Anyone with Dolly Parton makes a fantastic couple.”

This year’s award show will be broadcast live from the Prime Video Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas and available for viewing globally to all Amazon Prime members.

Produced by Dick Clark Productions and established in 1966, the Academy of Country Music Awards are the longest-running country awards show. The ACMs made history last year as the first major awards show to exclusively livestream (in partnership with Prime Video). This year’s show will celebrate country music’s biggest stars and emerging talent with an array of performances and exclusive collaborations.

“In addition to getting to see all this great new talent in country music,” Parton says, “I am excited to have the chance to premiere the lead single from my upcoming rock album.”

While Parton has been working on her rock record and other projects (including a new book called “BEHIND THE SEAMS: My Life in Rhinestones” set for release in October), Brooks has been preparing for his Garth Brooks/Plus One Las Vegas Residency at the The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Set to kick off in May, it was originally announced for this year only, but with the demand for tickets so high, his residency has been extended into 2024.

Having the two music icons host this year’s show together is a big deal for the ACMs and Amazon.

“We are elated to have the beloved Dolly Parton return to co-host the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards alongside the legendary Garth Brooks,” notes Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon and MGM Studios.

While the show will be streamed live on Prime Video the night of May 11th, a full rebroadcast will be available for free on Amazon Freevee.
