Tonight’s Academy of Country Music Awards brings legendary artists Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks together as hosts. Parton has handled co-hosting duties before, but this will be a first for Brooks. The show will be broadcast from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas and viewers can stream it live on Amazon Prime Video and the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch.
Viewers can expect performances from some of the biggest names in country music including Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Hardy, and many more.
Global superstar Ed Sheeran is also set to perform, and Parton will cap the show with the premiere of the first song “World on Fire” rom her upcoming rock album Rockstar.
The annual celebration of country music will feature collaborations with Trisha Yearwood and Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde and Brandy Clark, Cole Swindell and Jo Dee Messina, and others.
In addition to performances, there will be much to watch in terms of awards, as well. Miranda Lambert, the most-awarded artist in ACM history, received a record-breaking 17th nomination for “Female Artist-of-the-Year” this year. (She surpasses Reba McEntire who has 16.) Lambert has also been nominated for four other awards including “Entertainer of the Year.”
Singer/songwriter HARDY, who released his dual country/rock album in January, has the most nominations of any artist and the list includes “Song of the Year” and “Artist/Songwriter of the Year.” He shares three of those nominations with Lainey Wilson for their collaboration on the song “Wait in the Truck.”
Wilson has a total of six nominations including “Female Artist of the Year.”
Those are just a few of the highlights from tonight’s long list of artists up for awards. It’s expected to be a big evening for country music fans.
Tonight’s show kicks off at 8pm EST/7pm CT and will be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video making it available to viewers in more than 240 countries and territories.
