Good Boy, a hit horror thriller told from a dog’s vantage point, is coming soon to streaming. Find out when and where you can watch the movie at home.
Directed by Ben Leonberg, Good Boy opened in theaters on Oct. 3. The logline for the movie reads, “A loyal dog moves to a rural family home with his owner, Todd (Shane Jensen), only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.”
Good Boy also stars Leonberg’s dog, Indy, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.
Good Boy will be released on digital streaming via premium on demand on Friday, Oct. 24, according to a new listing on Prime Video. In addition to Prime Video, Good Boy will be available on a variety of platforms, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube. Prime Video currently has the movie available for pre-order for purchase for $19.99.
Since PVOD rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, Good Boy should be available to rent for 48 hours for $14.99.
How Did Audiences And Critics Receive ‘Good Boy’?
After the film’s acclaimed reception at the 2025 SXSW Film and TV Festival in March, Good Boy got a wide theatrical release when it opened in theaters on Oct. 3.
Good Boy to date has earned $5.59 million domestically and more than $450,000 internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $6 million. Scream Horror Magazine reported that Good Boy had a production budget of $750,000 before prints and advertising, which is an amount reported by other horror movie outlets.
Good Boy was also a big hit with critics, earning an 89% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 147 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus reads, “Good Boy is a visually striking, emotionally devastating horror film that eschews genre conventions to deliver a uniquely haunting and conceptually ambitious experience.”
The film also earned an 83% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 500-plus verified user ratings.
Rated PG-13, Good Boy arrives on PVOD on Oct. 24.
