With ‘Doctor Who’ returning to screens for its 14th season, people are excited to see the new ‘Time Lord.’ However, BBC Studios, a subsidiary of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), decided to bring the Doctor to virtual worlds before the season begins. VentureBeat, a tech-focused news website, reported that the company will introduce the franchise in The Sandbox game.
Pushing the Boundaries
According to the announcement, BBC Studios will join hands with Reality+, a web3 and metaverse-focused platform, to mark the entry of franchises including Top Gear and Doctor Who. BBC Studios metaverse is expected to launch at some point this year.

Tony Pearce, Reality+ CEO, said, “We’re excited to have extended our partnership with BBC Studios, not only to help them push the boundaries of what’s possible in the metaverse but for the opportunity to deliver exciting new experiences for the fans of these world-renowned TV shows.”
Doctor Who is among the longest-running shows globally. Originated in 1963, 13 actors, including William Hartnell, David Tenant, Jodie Whittaker, and more, have portrayed the Doctor or Time Lord, a time travelling scientist. Ncuti Gatwa, a Rwandan-Scottish actor who appeared in Netflix series Sex Education, will appear as the 14th Doctor in the series.
The Sandbox (SAND) Price Analysis
The Sandbox (SAND) price is currently on a path to complete an inverse head and shoulder pattern. However, in order to do so, the value must grow two-fold. The token has lost almost half the valuation since February 2023. Currently, SAND is changing hands at $0.51, gaining 0.14% in 24 hours.
Aroon down is over 40% above the aroon up line, indicating buyers’ dominance in the market. True strength index is slightly below the signal line, highlighting the same. Nevertheless, the price finished a falling wedge course during April and May 2023, breaking the pattern just a couple of days ago. As of now, the SAND holds resistance at around $0.54 and a support near $0.5.
Attackers Tried to Scam Users Using the CEO’s Account
The metaverse-focused game is popular among popular entities, including Snoop Dogg, Stanislas Wawrinka, and more. Recently, Paris Hilton, an American media personality, released a collection of her NFT avatars on the platform. However, the company has come across multiple hacks in the past. Though the attacks were not significant, they may still pose a threat to people’s trust in the game.
Yesterday, The Sandbox took to Twitter that Arthur Madrid’s, co-founder and chief executive officer of the company, account was attacked. Hackers posted phishing links associated with a false airdrop; in April 2023, malicious actors took command over the platform’s Instagram account.

Nevertheless, Arthur tweeted about the account’s recovery and asked users to avoid any spammy-looking URLs.
