Dirk Nowitzki is much more than a basketball player in Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks legend and NBA Champion is also a philanthropist and global ambassador for the city. Now, Nowitzki is branching out and taking his brand into new markets.
Nowtizki is opening a restaurant at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Naturally, it’s named Nowitzki. Located in Terminal C, the airport expects the space to open to travelers in late summer 2023. The airport released the first renderings of Nowitzki on Thursday.
The sports and celebrity-themed bar and restaurant will not only feature food, drinks and merchandise, but it will also feature innovative experiences such as an augmented reality meet and greet with Nowitzki. Using technology from Aireal, guests can take a photo or video with the 14-time NBA All-Star and share it on social media.
Additionally, the restaurant will adhere to the airport’s sustainability goals. It will recycle grease, compost organic waste and use environmentally friendly packaging.
