With his win over Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC 315, Jack Della Maddalena captured the UFC welterweight title. Jack Della Maddalena executed a stellar game plan at UFC 315. He combined his top-notch striking with the ability to stop Belal Muhammad’s takedowns. The strategy paid dividends, forcing Muhammad to engage in a five-round striking battle. That scenario favored the Australian, earning him a unanimous decision win and the UFC 170-pound title.
Now at the top of the UFC welterweight heap, Della Maddalena surged in the pound-for-pound rankings as well, breaking in as the No. 9 fighter in the UFC.

With the loss, Muhammad fell to No. 1 in the official UFC welterweight rankings. The former champ also plummeted in the pound-for-pound rankings, dropping to No. 13.

Natalia Silva shook up the UFC women’s flyweight division with her win over former champion Alexa Grasso on the UFC 315 main card. Silva entered the fight as the No. 5 fighter in the UFC women’s 125-pound division, while Grasso was ranked No. 1.
With her one-sided win over Grasso, Silva surged to the No. 1 spot in the women’s flyweight rankings. Silva also improved to No. 8 in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings.
Silva is a perfect 7-0 in the UFC.

Alexa Grasso took some hits at UFC 315, both figuratively and literally. While Silva marked up Grasso with her kickboxing skills, the former champ dropped from her No. 1 ranking to No. 3 in the women’s 125-pound weight class. Grasso also lost ground in the pound-for-pound rankings, falling to No. 5.

While some fighters did not agree with the judge’s decision to give the UFC 315 bout between Jose Aldo and Aiemann Zahabi to Zahabi, their opinions don’t carry any weight on the official record. Zahabi’s decision win moved him to No. 11 in the UFC’s bantamweight division following UFC 315.
As for Aldo, he retired after the fight and is no longer a ranked UFC competitor.
UFC 315 took place on Saturday, May 10 from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main card streamed on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
The next fight card on the UFC schedule, UFC Vegas 106 takes place on Saturday, May 17 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. In the main event, former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns faces the undefeated Michael Morales. The entire UFC Vegas 106 card streams on ESPN+ with prelims starting at 4:00 p.m. ET and the main card beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.
