It was a busy week for dividend increases among large U.S. companies across a variety of sectors.
The stock, which yields 1.6%, has returned about minus 6% this year through Nov. 11, dividends included, compared with minus 16% for the
S&P 500
.
The company’s portfolio includes medical devices, supplies, and laboratory equipment. This marks the 51st consecutive year in which the company has raised its dividend.
Lodging company
Marriott International
(MAR) declared a quarterly dividend of 40 cents a share, an increase of 33% from 30 cents a share. The stock, which yields 0.7%, has returned about minus 0.5% year to date.

Home builder
D.R. Horton
(DHI) plans to boost its quarterly payout to 25 cents a share from 22.5 cents. That’s an increase of 11%. The stock, which has returned minus 21% this year, yields 1.2%.
Roper Technologies
(ROP) said it will boost its quarterly dividend to 68.25 cents a share, up from 62 cents currently. That’s an increase of 10%. It’s the 30th consecutive annual dividend increase for the company.
The stock, which yields 0.6%, has returned minus 10% this year.
Automatic Data Processing
(ADP) has approved a 20% increase of its dividend to an annual rate of $5 a share. That equates to a quarterly payout of $1.25 a share, up from $1.04 currently. This marks the 48th straight year of dividend increases for the company.
The stock, which has returned 2.5% in 2022, yields 2%.
Utility
DTE Energy
(DTE) declared a quarterly dividend of 95.25 cents a share. That’s an increase of 7.6% from 88.5 cents.
The stock, which yields 3.1%, has returned around minus 2% this year.
Atmos Energy
(ATO) said it will pay a quarterly dividend of 74 cents a share. That’s $2.96 a share on an annual basis, an increase of nearly 9% over what it paid out in fiscal 2022, which ended in September.
The stock, which has returned 7.6% this year, yields 2.7%.
The company, based in Dallas, distributes and stores natural gas.
Assurant
(AIZ) said it plans to boost its quarterly payout by 2 cents, or 3% to 70 cents a share.
The stock, which yields 2.1%, has returned about minus 17% year to date.
