Cynthia Erivo Charts Yet Another Top 10 Hit From The ‘Wicked’ Universe

For the moment, the Wicked franchise is in the rearview mirror, at least as far as movies go. The celebrated Broadway musical was turned into two films – one encompassing the story portrayed in act one, and the other detailing what happens in act two. The second installment was released to theaters in late 2025, and while its accompanying soundtrack and several tunes featured on the album performed well, the movie itself did not receive the same critical love as its predecessor. Wicked: For Good was passed over entirely at the Academy Awards, even though it brought in more than half a billion dollars at the global box office.

Months after Wicked: For Good left theaters, and now that its promotional run seems to have closed, one of the two tracks written and composed specifically for the second movie has become a sudden top 10 hit in the United Kingdom.

Cynthia Erivo’s “No Place Like Home” Debuts

For Wicked: For Good, composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz created two tracks specifically for the film that do not appear in the Broadway show. Co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both received a new composition to sing, and now, “The Girl in the Bubble” and “No Place Like Home” have both become bestsellers in the U.K.

As Grande’s cut returns, Erivo’s “No Place Like Home” opens inside the highest tier on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts. “No Place Like Home” launches highest on the vinyl-only tally, where it steps in at No. 8. The same piece of music arrives one space lower on the ranking of the bestselling tunes available on any physical format.

Cynthia Erivo Earns Her Second Hit

Erivo collects only her second hit on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts, and her two smashes come from the world of Wicked. Last April, she joined Grande on “Defying Gravity.” That tune, which would go on to win the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance earlier this year, peaked at No. 3.

“No Place Like Home” Among This Week’s Top Debuts

On the Official Vinyl Singles chart, “No Place Like Home” starts as the fourth-highest-ranking debut. Erivo comes in behind “Is This All There Is” by Anna Calvi and Matt Berninger, Fatboy Slim’s “Retox,” and “Intro” by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke.

Erivo may launch “No Place Like Home” in a slightly lower position on the Official Physical Singles chart, but on that tally, she collects the third-highest-ranking entry. BTS debuts “Swim” at No. 1 – the song was made available to purchase on CD but not vinyl – while “Is This All There Is” opens at No. 3.

Ariana Grande’s “The Girl in the Bubble” Returns

On both charts where “No Place Like Home” debuts, “The Girl in the Bubble” returns. Grande’s solo Wicked: For Good reenters at No. 6 on the vinyl list and No. 7 on the Official Physical Singles rundown. In the past, it has climbed into the top three on the two rankings.

Cynthia Erivo’s “No Place Like Home” Reaches the Sales List

“No Place Like Home” sold so well on physical formats that the track also manages to fly onto the Official Singles Sales chart for the first time. That list is far more competitive, and “No Place Like Home” barely manages to occupy a spot as it enters at No. 92.

Erivo nearly matches her previously-set career low, which she managed in December 2024 with “I’m Not That Girl,” which is featured on the first Wicked film soundtrack. “I’m Not That Girl” debuted and lived at No. 99 for one week before falling away. Several other related cuts, such as “Defying Gravity” and “For Good,” have magically reached the top 10.
