One Battle After Another and Sinners are among the top nominees for the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards, which were announced Monday in Los Angeles.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another’s leading nine Golden Globe nominations mostly come in the Musical or Comedy Category, where it is competing for such top honors as Best Motion Picture, Best Actor for DiCaprio, Best Actress for Chase Infiniti, Best Supporting Actor for both Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn and Best Supporting Actress for Teyana Taylor. Anderson is also in the running for Best Director.
Director Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value led the film drama category with eight nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, while Sinners scored seven nominations.
Written and directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, Sinners is in the running for the Golden Globes’ Drama category, where it earned nods for Best Motion Picture and Best Actor for Jordan. Coogler, meanwhile, was nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay.
One Battle After Another will compete for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy Golden Globe against Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice and Nouvelle Vague.
Sentimental Value and Sinners will compete for the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama with Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just and Accident and The Secret Agent.
The HBO Max hit series White Lotus led all TV nominees with six nods, including Best Drama Series. In additon, Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs each got nods for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series, while Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood were all nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series.
Last year, Emilia Pérez led all Musical or Comedy nominees with 10 nominations, while The Brutalist earned seven nominations to lead the Drama category.
The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 11, and will air live on CBS-TV and stream live on Paramount+. Comedian Nikki Glaser is returning as host for the event after serving as emcee for the 82nd Annual Golden Globes.
In addition, the Golden Globes organization is staging a separate ceremony to honor this year’s recipients of the organization’s Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award. Titled Golden Eve, the ceremony will honor Helen Mirren with the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Sarah Jessica Parker with the Carol Burnett Award.
The Golden Globes’ Golden Eve special will air on CBS-TV on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT and stream on Paramount+.
