For several weeks now, Coldplay’s star has been on the rise. The group’s decades-old song “Sparks” recently went viral, and frame after frame, the tune climbs higher and higher on rankings all around the world. Thanks to the surprise success of the album cut, paired with a seemingly never-ending saga connected to one moment on the kiss cam at one of the band’s concerts, Coldplay is enjoying an exciting surge in popularity.
This week, the Grammy winning outfit brings several huge hits back to a variety of tallies as consumption of all things Coldplay is on the rise.
Three Coldplay Songs Become Streaming Wins Again
In the U.K., where the musicians remain some of the most famous of all time, six different tracks by Coldplay appear on the charts. Almost all of them manage to live on several tallies at once, thanks to strong streaming numbers and, for some, a healthy sales sum. All but one of those tunes reappear on at least one list.
A trio of Coldplay cuts finds their way back to the Official Streaming chart, which ranks the most played tunes of any style on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others in the country. “The Scientist” is the biggest comeback at the moment as it reenters at No. 81. Just three spaces further south, “Sparks” not only breaks back onto the Official Streaming list, but reaches a new peak position of No. 84, only three frames into its lifespan on the list. “A Sky Full of Stars” narrowly finds space on the roster again, coming in at No. 98.
“Yellow” Returns to the Main Singles Ranking
“Yellow” soars 20 spots on the Official Streaming tally, and that uptick in plays appears to have been enough to push it back to the main list of the most consumed songs in the U.K. The early Coldplay track can now be found at No. 86 on the Official Singles chart, where it joins both “Viva La Vida” and “Sparks.”
“All My Love” is a Bestseller Again
Coldplay also mounts a return on the Official Physical Singles chart. “All My Love” jumps back onto the roster at No. 98, coming in third to last place after once peaking in the runner-up spot. That’s the only tally where the sweet tune appears, and “All My Love” is the only Coldplay release to land on the ranking of the bestselling cuts available on any physical format at the moment.
“Viva La Vida” Leaps Up Several Charts
This week, “Viva La Vida” — one of Coldplay’s most famous smashes — doesn’t need to return to any list, but it does grow. The track jumps more than 10 spaces north on both the Official Singles and Official Streaming charts, settling in at Nos. 83 and 61, respectively.
