This year’s event isn’t even over, and the first attraction for next year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios has been announced.
Chucky will be raising hell in a haunted house inspired by the smash hit series currently enjoying its second season on SYFY and the USA networks. It will feature at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort. The early announcement by park officials is unprecedented as they usually wait until summer to roll out information about that season’s unique attractions.
No specific details have been released yet, but it’s something Chucky‘s creator, Don Mancini, hinted at during an interview with Forbes ahead of the show’s return earlier this month.
When asked if the show’s success warranted a conversation about having a haunted house at the event dedicated to the show in 2023, he agreed, urging fans to “watch this space.”
2023 won’t be the first time the maniacal doll has slayed at the theme park’s annual event. His past appearances have included the Chucky: Friends til the End haunted house and Chucky’s Revenge scare zone at the Orlando location in 2009 and 2018, respectively. His most recent appearance at Universal Studios Hollywood was in 2017, when he hosted the Titans of Terror Tram. There was also a Chucky themed ‘Good Guy’ toy box photo op at both parks this season.
The Chucky and Child’s Play movies have grossed $176 million at the worldwide box office. There have also been two straight-to-video sequels and a non-canon reboot. Millions of fans are watching Chucky‘s acclaimed second season across all platforms each week.
Chucky airs simultaneously on SYFY and USA network on Wednesday nights, with episodes landing on Peacock the next day. It has yet to be announced when tickets for Halloween Horror Nights will go on sale.
