Every few years, Barbara Broccoli and her brother Michael Wilson, respectively the undisputed queen and king of the Bond universe, get with their friends at Christie’s London and de-accession a selection of the objects, gadgets, cars, watches, masks, and other prop ephemera that Bond actors and the filmmakers have either worn, written, handled, destroyed, chased or cherished in manufacturing the 60-year-old global franchise. This year’s auction, aptly entitled “60 Years Of Bond” 100% of whose proceeds of $7 million went to a cuvee of British and international charitable causes, ran for three weeks online and one very entertaining live evening auction, culminating earlier this month, October 5.
