Charles Hoskinson is excited about new projects on Cardano’s Hard Fork Vasil

  • The Vasil hard fork is aimed at reducing transaction time
  • Vasil does not require the network to restart and preserves history
  • Hoskinson isn’t happy with the media coverage of Vasil

The Vasil fork is unique and it is attracting projects

The creator of the Cardano network, Charles Hoskinson tweeted about new projects being planned on the new Vasil network. The Vasil hard fork materialized on September 23rd. This hard fork was executed via a combinator event (HFC).

Hoskinson reacted to a tweet by NEWM (going by the handle @projectNEWM) which is going to launch on the Vasil network:

NEWM or project NEWM is a blockchain-based music company. Artists will be able to share their work publicly on their platforms. NEWM tweeted that the upgrade made the network more efficient

According to Input Output Hong Kong or IOHK, the Vasil hard fork is unique because it can preserve network version history while allowing upgrades. Here’s the official tweet that explains the hard fork characteristics:

Hoskinson is critical of media coverage for Vasil; suggests bias

Hoskinson tweeted about the media coverage the Vasil upgrade was receiving. Tweeting how media agencies were biased towards other coins

He also tweeted the media was focussing on the three-month delay before Vasil’s upgrade. Hoskinson compared a tweet about the forks in Ethereum and that of Cardano highlighting how the delay was not reported in Ethereum’s case:

“It’s amazing to me to see the passive aggressiveness in some of the headlines. We’ve just completed a major milestone that took coordination and testing from people and companies across the world, but the news item is “three-month delay”? Journalists always tell you who they are.”
