The first elimination game of the 2022 NBA Finals is upon us.
The Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors are set to clash in a thrilling Game 6 of their back-and-forth series tonight at the TD Garden, a matchup that the C’s must win at home to keep their championship dreams alive.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch this can’t-miss showdown:
2022 NBA Finals Game 6 Schedule
Date: Wednesday, June 16
Time: 9 p.m. ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
TV: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN and the ESPN app
Series Standing: Warriors 3 – Celtics 2
2022 NBA Playoffs Bracket:
Golden State has its opponents on the ropes after emerging victorious in back-to-back contests. After going down 2-1 in the series, the Warriors battled back to take Games 4 and 5, setting the team up to win its fourth Larry O’Brien Trophy since 2015.
There is still hope for Boston, however. The Eastern Conference champs held Steph Curry in check during the last showdown, ending his run of 233 straight games with a made three-pointer and limiting him to just 16 points in total.
While the C’s still lost by a 104-94 margin, they seem to have figured out a way to contain the superstar guard who had been averaging 34.3 points in the 2022 NBA Finals and dropped 43 in Game 4.
Boston must be careful as Curry has historically rebounded well from off nights. He’s averaged over 30 points in his last five games following a matchup in which he failed to make a three, including setting the NBA record with 13 made treys back in 2016.
Despite the chance that Curry bounces back in a big way, oddsmakers are still projecting Boston to force a Game 7.
According to FanDuel’s 2022 NBA Finals odds, the Celtics opened as a three-point favorites. Bettors have pushed that line up to four with just a few hours remaining until the 9 p.m. ET tip-off.

Celtics vs. Warriors Game 6 Prediction
It’s hardly a surprise that Boston is favored given how well the team has fared in elimination games during the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
The club has gone 3-0 with its season on the line—beating the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in Games 6 and 7 of the conference semifinals as well as winning Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals over the Miami Heat—and has a real shot at forcing a winner-take-all matchup in the NBA Finals.
Getting Jaylen Brown going early will be important for the C’s. The star wing averaged 25.5 points on 49 percent shooting during Boston’s two victories in this series but went ice cold in Game 5. Brown had 18 points while shooting just five-of-18 from the field and missing all five of his three-point attempts in the contest.
The Warriors’ smothering defense will make that task difficult. Golden State became the first team to hand the Celtics back-to-back losses since early March by holding them under 100 points in both Games 4 and 5, forcing a myriad of turnovers in each of those games.
Ball security should be a key focus for the Celtics in tonight’s contest. The squad committed 18 turnovers on Monday evening, falling to a mere 1-7 in games where it committed 16 or more turnovers during the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
Boston only coughed the ball up 13 times in Game 1 and 12 times in Game 3, winning the turnover battle in both games.
If the Celtics can share the ball and get all their key players involved while avoiding mistakes that cost them an opportunity to build a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, they have a fantastic chance of forcing a Game 7.
Boston should be confident after playing outstanding defense at times during Game 5. If the team can keep that effort up while getting just a bit more production on the offensive end, the 2022 NBA Finals will go the distance.
Pick: Celtics -4
Prediction: Celtics 107 – Warriors 100
