Cardano continues its steady expansion across key infrastructure, governance, and ecosystem initiatives, as reflected in its latest development report.
Cardano has surpassed 2,003 projects building on the platform, with total transactions now exceeding 110.63 million—a 0.19% increase from last week. Delegated wallets also grew in number, signaling strong community engagement.
Smart contract deployment remained active, with 138,544 Plutus scripts and 7,350 Aiken scripts now live, up 0.14% week-over-week. Developer contributions climbed by 24%, with 210 GitHub commits logged.
Key ecosystem highlights:
- Flow DeFi concluded its presale with 7.5 million ADA raised.
- Brave Wallet added Cardano as a supported network in its beta version.
- Iagon and Ford Motor Company formed a partnership to explore decentralized legal data storage.
- Surance Plus plans to integrate Midnight, Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain.
- The Cardano Foundation released a new governance voting tool, advancing on-chain decision-making.
Core Technology: Ledger Improvements and Hard Fork Prep
The ledger team continued modernization efforts, with major improvements to the CDDL-generation tool for better code readability and accuracy. Support for GHC 8.10 was dropped, allowing the use of more advanced compiler checks and optimizations.
One legacy bug was resolved, and early work on nested transactions has begun. Preparations are underway for a planned intra-era hard fork later this year.
Scaling Progress: Mithril and Leios Advancements
The Mithril team released version 2524.0, which supports Cardano node 10.4.1 and introduces a new CLI tool for converting UTXO-HD ledger state snapshots. Additional upgrades include:
- A new command for verifying Cardano databases via Mithril
- Publisher/consumer implementation for the DMQ network
- Continued refactoring of the STM cryptographic library
Meanwhile, the Leios team enhanced network simulations by refining the trace processor and designing a more compact “miniature mainnet” topology for testing.
Catalyst: UX Evolution and Project Milestones
Project Catalyst hosted its 194th town hall and released Episode 3 of the Under the Hood series. This episode focused on user experience design with insights from senior product designer Niels Kijf.
As nearly 50 projects complete monthly, Catalyst will soon highlight the latest batch of successfully closed and funded initiatives.
