Cardano Light Wallet Lace Floats New Upgrade, What Changed?

Lace, the popular Cardano Light Wallet, has welcomed a new upgrade with interesting features.

Amongst other features, the new Lace Wallet version 1.19.0 is expected to enhance the Cardano’s performance and compatibility.

As a result of this upgrade, the wallet is expected to improve in speed and versatility.

Lace Wallet Version 1.19.0: Powering Cardano Growth

Experts believe the accompanying functionalities might catalyze the growth of the Cardano network.

One key feature of the wallets v1.19.0 is the DApp Explore. This explorer will give users easy access and connection to their favorite Decentralized Applications (dApps).

As described by the team, users would not need to leave the Lace Wallet to enjoy this feature.

With DApp Explorer, there will also be simplified interaction with the blockchain, providing users with a seamless and streamlined experience.

DappRadar is the Web3 infrastructure provider powering this solution. To improve performance, Lace now caches chain history and UTxO network requests. It explained in a blog post that this feature eliminates duplicate calls to Blockfrost after the initial load.

In the long run, this would effectively reduce the load on the Cardano network and accelerate Lace wallet performance.

Then, there is Snappier UI, which delivers enhanced responsiveness to ensure a smoother and faster user interface.

Lace Dominance in the Ecosystem

Cardano Light Wallet Lace has gained traction in the last few months due to the value that it delivers to users.

It has a feature from version 1.12 that helps users to multi-stake their ADA. Users’ assets can easily be delegated to multiple stake pools while circumventing the need for fund partitioning across multiple accounts.

When the blockchain introduced Lace v.1.9 in April 2024, it offered users a platform to access multi-account setups within a single wallet.

Users enjoy simplified asset management, which allows them to separate transactions or stake delegations effortlessly. Ultimately, the feature aimed to provide a seamless and organized way to handle digital assets.

These numerous upgrades have helped Lace stand out amongst other Cardano solutions.

Even Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder, recently hinted at the potential for Lace Wallet to become a “powerhouse” in the ecosystem this year.

Meanwhile, the wallet is expected to deliver more upgrades this year, especially with Hoskinson pushing for it to take more broader crypto industry share.

Cardano Plomin Hard Fork, What to Expect

The Cardano developer community is working on other upgrades and improvements besides Lace.

One such solution that made headlines recently is the Plomin hard fork. This upgrade, per the design could help to enhance Cardano’s governance, scalability, and the overall ecosystem.

Coming shortly after the implementation of the Chang Hard Fork, Plomin is likely to embody some of the features proposed by the Cardano Improvement Proposal, CIP-1694.

Several proposed features are focused on cementing Cardano’s fully decentralized governance model. Henceforth, Community decisions will play a front role in encouraging engagement and user interaction with the ecosystem.

Beyond the users, this feature could make the Cardano network more attractive to developers, especially those searching for a more decentralized and open blockchain.

Cardano came up with this hard fork to outperform its competitors, but there are rising concerns about Plomin’s sustainability.
