NFT games are thriving in the digital ecosystem. The gaming industry with the blockchain technology at its core has brought numerous opportunities for gamers across the world, with the model of Play-to-Earn. Notably, these games also seem to have become a career that allows players to make some passive gains for doing what they love to do. Recently, a survey has revealed that around one in every three gamers from the Philippines are either willing to quit their job or will consider resigning from their professional positions. Surprisingly, these gamers are willing to do so to play Non-Fungible Token games full time.
Balthazar shares an interesting survey report
Recently, Balthazar, an NFT gaming platform, conducted a survey. 1,103 gamers participated in the survey. The report revealed that one-third of the respondents are willing to quit their job just to play NFT games full time. Indeed, the data shows how much potential the industry brings as it can help gamers to earn their living.
Moreover, among all the respondents 97% were based in the Philippines. Among total, 59% of the gamers would prefer to play NFT games as their primary full-time jobs while holding on to some side gigs.
Following the survey report, John Stefandis, the CEO of Balthazar highlighted that the gaming platform believes that P2E games will be the biggest disruptor in the cryptocurrency industry this year. Additionally, the model would also disrupt the video game industry, as more gaming firms, cryptocurrency investors, and traditional inventors are investing in NFT games.
NFT gaming platforms offers reliable income streams
Non-Fungible Token game demand soared last year with the rise of Axie Infinity. Notably, for many Phillipines gamers, the game has become a primary source of income whose earnings were affected by the global pandemic.
As such NFT games have become a primary source of income for many, 69% of the survey’s respondents said that these tokens required joining games that were out of their price range.
Following the scenario, by the first quarter of this year, Axie Infinity aims to shift to free-to-play, so the project could onboard more players.
