Call Of Duty Players Will Use NFT In-Game?
Call of Duty is among the greatest franchises the gaming industry has ever witnessed and has filled its treasury with big bucks over its nearly 20-year history. Not only does it sell a myriad of copies globally, but it has thrived on in-game monetization.
During the early 2010s, COD would support each entry with downloadable content, which would enable folks to receive the latest weapons, maps, and more. After that, Activision transitioned to battle passes and loot boxes. Now it appears like Call of Duty is trying to get on the path of another latest trend which is steadily making its way into the gaming sector.
As per an insider RalphsValve, Infinity Ward developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is eyeing to include more personalization into Activision accounts, the very thing which makes each player unique in-game. Ralph added that Activision was thinking and making investigations to add NFTs in Call of Duty, but not many details were unveiled.
Whether it is via avatars and calling cards for the user’s activition account or via notable in-game character skins or items remains to be witnessed. It appears like it is still very much in the skies and there are no guarantees it will happen.
What Happens If This Dream Comes True?
Call of Duty is among the greatest franchises and biggest when talking about First Person Shooter franchises. Currently, players are hyped for Call of Duty Warzone, as it contains almost all the characters the COD universe has ever witnessed.
If NFTs are included in the game, then it is possible that players might not need to purchase a separate battle pass for franchise games like COD: Mobile, COD: Warzone, etc.
Most probably, folks will have to acquire an NFT, just like we acquire battle passes and other playable characters through bundles and lucky draws.
A major turning point here might be that, folks do not need to acquire a particular NFT in separate games. Just imagine, you acquire Ghost – Loose Ends in Call Of Duty Warzone, then you can utilize it in any COD game, like Cold War, Modern Warfare, or CODM.
