BTS member Jung Kook is enjoying a big week on a handful of Billboard charts, and he’s preparing for perhaps another very soon. The musical star is gearing up to release what is being labeled his debut solo single, “Seven,” which is coming Friday, July 14. Ahead of that drop, he appears on two weekly tallies with years-old tunes, and as those cuts arrive, he replaces one of his bandmates atop one chart they both know well.
Jung Kook occupies the top two spots on the World Digital Song Sales chart, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the “world” cuts that actually sold the most copies in the prior tracking frame. The BTS singer debuts his older track “Still With You” at No. 1 with 6,500 copies sold, according to Luminate. Just behind that win comes another, as “My You” arrives in the runner-up rung. “My You” sold just over 5,100 copies in its debut frame.
The arrival of both “Still With You” and “My You” means last week’s champion had to step down. Coincidentally, the World Digital Song Sales chart was led by another BTS musician last frame. Jimin controlled the tally once again with his solo smash “Like Crazy.” That song debuted atop not only the World Digital Song Sales chart several months ago but also the Digital Song Sales ranking and the Hot 100. It earned the largest sales frame of 2023, with around a quarter of a million copies sold.
Fans continue to buy “Like Crazy” even weeks after it sold an enormous sum, but this frame it falls considerably on the World Digital Song Sales chart. After appearing at No. 1 last week, the poppy cut dips to No. 7 in its eleventh turn on the ranking.
In between Jung Kook’s new hits and “Like Crazy” are several other bestsellers, including Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” at No. 3 and Fifty Fifty’s “Cupid” at No. 4, which have both spent a fair amount of time on the ranking. New to the tally is “Hear Me Out” by fellow South Korean talents Exo. The band returns to the chart with their brand new single, which clearly American fans enjoyed enough to send right into the top five on this list.
