K-pop sensation Jimin is making waves
waves
Jimin’s latest single debuts at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, selling 241,000 copies in its first week alone. That kind of impressive sum is rarely seen in the U.S., let alone for tunes that qualify for the “world” list.
“Like Crazy” Jimin’s third solo No. 1 hit on the World Digital Song Sales chart. The new winner replaces his previous chart-topper “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” which now sits in the runner-up rung on the same tally. Jimin’s only other previous chart-topping hit on the World Digital Song Sales ranking was “With You,” which he released with fellow South Korean musician Ha Sung-woon.
Jimin isn’t just dominating the top two spots on the World Digital Song Sales chart, however. The K-pop idol also manages to occupy three other positions inside just the top 10. This week, “Face-Off” and “Alone” launch at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Meanwhile, “Promise,” which first appeared on the list a few weeks ago, despite being a song that was actually released years ago, sits at No. 10 on the chart.
Four of Jimin’s current hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart are taken from his EP Face. The project, his first without his BTS bandmates, debuts at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales and World Albums charts, while also starting at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
