Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the recently released Bruce Springsteen biopic, might not have turned out to be the box office smash that some hoped it might be — it pulled in less than $9 million in its first weekend in America — but the film’s wide release around the world is helping the legendary rocker on the charts. The movie centers on the making of Springsteen’s album Nebraska, one of the more controversial projects in his discography at the time it dropped. Naturally, that set has bounced back onto charts everywhere after being thrust into the spotlight, and it’s joined by a new take on the classic titled Nebraska ’82.
In the United Kingdom, the two albums are counted separately, and Springsteen sees the original soar and even debut on multiple tallies it had never appeared on before, while Nebraska ’82 becomes yet another chart-topper for the superstar.
Nebraska ’82 Vs. the Original Nebraska
Between Nebraska and Nebraska ’82, the latter is the bigger winner. Nebraska ’82 launches on half a dozen charts in the U.K. this frame. The first version of Nebraska only appears on half as many lists, and it’s not new to all of them.
Bruce Springsteen’s New No. 1 Album
Nebraska ’82 hits No. 1 on one of the six rankings where it debuts this frame. Springsteen conquers the Official Americana chart with his latest release, earning his sixth leader and seventh top 10 out of eight total appearances on the genre-specific ranking.
