In the caption of an Instagram post featuring a picture of a rose, a frequent and favorite symbol for Spears, the 40-year-old said she is “having a baby.”
The pop star said she took a pregnancy test after she lost weight and then surprisingly gained it back.
Spears said she will not be going out in public to avoid the paparazzi, who hounded her constantly, particularly during her first two pregnancies when she said she suffered perinatal depression.
Spears mentioned her “husband” in the posts, presumably referring to her fiancé, Sam Asghari, something she’s done before though the two have not announced they are married.

As Spears sought to end the 13-year-long conservatorship which put her father Jamie in charge of her financial and medical decisions, she testified that the legal agreement didn’t allow her to get her IUD (intrauterine device) removed. “I was told right now in the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby, I have a [IUD] inside of myself right now so I don’t get pregnant,” she told Judge Brenda Penny in June. “I wanted to take the [IUD] out so I could start trying to have another baby. But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don’t want me to have children—any more children. So basically, this conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good.” Spears and Asghari became engaged in September, shortly before Jamie Spears was suspended from the conservatorship. The couple met in 2016 and have been together for five years.
