Born Again’ Season 2 Coming Out? Here’s The Really Good News

The Season 1 finale of Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming on Disney+. If you’ve already binged the last episode, you’re probably wondering when Season 2 will hit the platform—and the good news is, the wait might be shorter than you think.

Daredevil: Born Again is a reboot of Netflix’s 2015 Daredevil series, with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock. The original show wrapped its third and final season in October 2018, but Marvel revealed plans for a Disney+ revival during San Diego Comic-Con in 2022.

Set six years after the events of Daredevil’s third season on Netflix, the action-packed nine episodes follows Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities who fights for justice at his law firm. He’s set on a collision course with former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who is pursuing his own political endeavors in New York. All episodes of Season 1 are now streaming on Disney+, including the highly anticipated finale that premiered on April 15.

Here’s everything you need to know about the next installment, including when Marvel plans to release Season 2, the casts’ reactions to the script, who’s returning (and joining) the series, and more.

Will There Be A Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

Yes, Daredevil: Born Again is officially returning for a second season after receiving an early renewal. As of March 2025, filming is already underway in New York.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige initially announced that the reboot would consist of 18 episodes, but the studio later decided to split the season into two. According to Entertainment Weekly, the first nine episodes became Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, while the remaining episodes will serve as the foundation for Season 2.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane confirmed to Collider that Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, one fewer than the first season, which had nine episodes on Disney+.

“When I came in and put together the overview of what the first season was going to be, the second season was implied. They are the absolute flip side to each other, which you’ll see,” Scardapane explained. “Without giving too much away, at the very end of the last episode of this season, you essentially see a lot of cards being put out on a table, and season 2 is those cards going into play vigorously and perhaps viciously.”

When Is Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Coming Out?

Disney+ has yet to announce an official release date for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, but the series is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.

Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, told ScreenRant that an annual release is “the plan,” adding, “Season 2 will come out next year [2026], and then hopefully season 3 and season infinity after that. I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York.”

What Will Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Be About?

The synopsis for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 hasn’t been released yet. However, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio—who play Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk—have already read part of the script. In an interview with Collider, they offered a few hints about what fans can expect in the upcoming season.

“I’ve read six of eight, and honestly—and I don’t normally say this kind of thing; I always err on the side of caution—that’s some of my favorite stuff I’ve read of Daredevil,” Cox revealed.

He continued, “We’ve got Dario Scardapane, who was brought in to pivot the show back at the beginning of 2024, who ended up writing the pilot and the last two episodes of this season that’s coming out. What he’s done so far with this new season is so cool and so different and so sinister, and I’m really, really excited about it.”

D’Onofrio has also read the scripts for the first six episodes and shared that he loves “where it’s going” so far, teasing that the season is shaping up to be both “emotional” and “crazy.”

“It’s going to be quite something by the end of it, by the end of the next season. By the end of Season 2, there’s something quite amazing I feel is going to happen. We’ve both talked to Dario about the other half of it, but we’re not completely clear on it,” he continued.

D’Onofrio went on, “We haven’t read the scripts yet, but they’re going to be delivered, and we’re going to read them. But I do have an idea of some of the details of what’s going to happen midway through and past, and it’s intense. It’s quite something. Like Charlie just said, I wouldn’t say that unless I felt it. It’s going to be a lot of work. We have a lot of work ahead of us. It’s going to be emotional and full of physical altercations. [Laughs] I don’t know what to say, but it’s going to be a crazy season.”

Who Will Be In The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Cast?

Deadline confirmed that Cox will return as Murdock and D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. They’ll be joined once again by Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, and Elden Henson, who’s reprising his role as Foggy Nelson.

Genneya Walton, who plays BB Urich, is also reportedly returning for Season 2. Additionally, Wilson Bethel was spotted on set in April 2025, hinting at the return of his character, Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye.

A newcomer joining Season 2 is Lili Taylor, who will reportedly portray “a political foe for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk,” according to Deadline.
