It’s been more than five years since the first Blackpink member’s solo collection was released, and now, Jisoo has finally joined her fellow bandmates with the release of her own solo tracks. And it seems that the two songs Jisoo shared with fans have been a big hit in the United States, as one opens inside the highest tier on one very important chart.
Tomorrow (April 11), Billboard will update all its rankings, and Jisoo will officially appear inside the top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart. Her debut solo single “Flower” will open at No. 10 on the tally, which ranks the tracks that actually sold the most copies in the U.S. This is different from the Hot 100 and other rankings, which also take into account streams and radio play.
“Flower” manages to debut at No. 10 as it sold just over 5,700 copies in its debut frame of availability—just enough to make it into the highest tier. The single sold just 100 copies more than the No. 11 track, Russ’ “Nasty.” “Flower” earns the highest debut of the week.
Jisoo’s “Flower” marks her first top 10 on the Digital Song Sales chart, but it’s not her only placement on the 50-space tally this week. Her other track, “All Eyes On Me,” is set to arrive at No. 19. That tune sold just under 3,100 copies in its initial seven days.
Both “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me” were packaged on what’s called a single album in South Korea, Jisoo’s home base. The set was titled Me and became a powerful seller in the Asian nation. However, collections that short are not eligible for charting in the U.S.
This week, the Digital Song Sales chart will once again be owned by another South Korean musician, Jimin. One of the seven members of BTS, Jimin has now controlled the tally for three consecutive turns. His single “Like Crazy” holds at No. 1, selling another 14,800 copies. Before that cut arrived, he also conquered the Digital Song Sales chart with its predecessor, “Set Me Free Pt. 2.”
