Blackpink member Jennie, now known to many by her stage name Jennie Ruby Jane, is now a star in both the music industry and the television world. While HBO’s new series The Idol may not be receiving the best reviews and its future at the network remains uncertain, it has become a major trending topic, and fans are enjoying discussing it online.
Among the stars of the show is Jennie herself, who was a musician first and foremost before joining the program. With the release of her latest solo single in connection with the series, Jennie’s chances of achieving success on the Billboard charts in a few days are looking promising.
Three songs were recently releases from the fourth episode of The Idol, one of which is titled “One of the Girls.” The track is a collaboration between Jennie and Lily-Rose Depp, who is also a co-star on the show. Considering the track record of songs released from The Idol, it appears that a fair number of them find their way onto the Hot 100 chart, benefiting from increased viewership and streaming numbers driven by the show’s popularity.
Jennie, being a star in her own right, stands a strong chance of achieving solo success on the Billboard charts. As the first member of Blackpink to embark on a solo career, she made her solo debut five years ago. The landscape of the U.S. music industry has evolved since then, and K-pop artists now have an easier time charting. Two of Jennie’s bandmates, Rosé and Lisa, have already reached the Hot 100 on their own. Although Jennie’s initial solo release, “Solo,” didn’t secure a spot on the chart, her current circumstances suggest that her chances of achieving solo success have significantly improved.
The singer and TV star claims a massive fan base, and they are eager to support her in anything she does. Now, they have their first chance in years to show her love with “One of the Girls,” and they will likely turn up in huge numbers to stream and purchase the cut in large enough figures as to send it right to a number of important rankings, including the Hot 100.
