Binance Academy Adds Free ‘Cardano Fundamentals’ Course to Its Learning Platform

A new entry point for blockchain learners

Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, is expanding its educational platform, Binance Academy, through a collaboration with the Cardano Foundation to launch a new free course titled “Cardano Fundamentals.”

The course is delivered by the Cardano Academy and introduces participants to the foundational concepts behind the Cardano blockchain. Topics include the Ouroboros proof-of-stake protocol, the extended UTXO (eUTXO) model, Cardano’s native asset functionality, and its approach to governance, scalability, and interoperability. Learners will also explore real-world applications in DeFi, gaming, and supply chains.

Structured learning with practical context

The “Cardano Fundamentals” course is organized into video modules supported by expert commentary and real-world case studies. It provides an in-depth look at Cardano’s technical foundations and design decisions, starting with its origins and development as a research-driven blockchain project.

Learners are introduced to Ouroboros, Cardano’s peer-reviewed proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, and the extended unspent transaction output (eUTXO) model, which underpins its smart contract architecture. The course also covers how native assets and NFTs are handled directly on the Cardano ledger without requiring smart contracts.
