YouTube is one of the best platforms to find crypto alpha
YouTube is one of the best platforms to find crypto alpha.
But 99% of people are using it wrong.
🧵: Here's how to PROPERLY leverage the YouTube algorithm to create a free crypto alpha machine. 👇

In this thread, I'll break down 7 simple steps to use the YouTube algorithm to your advantage.
By the end, you'll have a start to finish blueprint of how to find and apply crypto alpha off YouTube.
Let's dive in. 👇

1. START A FRESH YOUTUBE ACCOUNT
You want to create a new account which is used for crypto ONLY.
It's likely that your current account is diluted with rubbish.
This is because YT feeds you content that it deems to be entertaining.
But entertaining ≠ productive.
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
All social media platforms have one goal: User retention.
Higher watch time = more eyeballs on ads = more revenue.
These platforms will do anything in their power to keep you on their platform.
Often times, this means feeding you mindless junk to keep you pacified.

2. CHOOSE YOUR CHANNELS
Here's your job: TRICK the algorithm into feeding you alpha.
And the only way to do this is to start fresh.
So once you've started a new account, now it's time to populate your subscription list with quality creators.

Here are some channel suggestions to get you started (in no particular order):@theallinpod@RealVision@TaschaLabs@theBlockcrunch@invest_answers@crypto_banter@Trader_XO@phtevenstrong@TaikiMaeda2@danku_r@Dynamo_Patrick@drakeondigital@ThorHartvigsen

I'm sure I'm missing many great channels, so let me know your favourites in the comments!
These are just some suggestions to get the ball rolling.
Feel free to subscribe to my channel as well 😉: https://t.co/8GwfYyvdGt

Note: Don't feel the need to oversubscribe.
In the beginning, keep things manageable by picking ~10 channels which you like.
You can keep adding to your base overtime as you come across new creators.

3. SCHEDULE TIME
You can follow the greatest creators on the planet, but without a regimented plan, their wisdom is falling on deaf ears.
Block out dedicated YouTube time every day.
You can start with just 30 minutes a day, and scale up to an hour.

Make it a habit.
Just like going to the gym, eating healthy, or studying – making YouTube a part of your daily routine will make adhering to a long term strategy 10x easier.
Use an app like Google Calendar or Fantastical to block out a set daily time.
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
4. DOUBLE SPEED
If you can consume content at 2x speed, you're effectively doubling the pace in which you absorb information.
But, this is the end goal – not necessarily the starting point.
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
Start at 1.25x speed, and as your brain adjusts to the pacing of content – work your way up to 1.5x, 1.75x, and finally 2x.
If there's a really interesting point being made, you can always slow it down and rewatch the section – I frequently do this.
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
I use 2x speed as a "scanner" (not every single minute of content will be alpha-packed), and then slow it down when I strike gold.
If I find a section particularly informative, I'll save the timestamp for later.
This brings me to my 5th tip:
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
5. TAKE NOTES
Taking notes is crucial.
Apps like @annotate_tv allow you to simultaneously watch and take notes (with timestamps).
Or you can use a note taking app like Notion.

6. DELVE DEEPER
In order to cement things we've learnt, gaining a deeper understanding of the subject in question is pivotal.
YouTube is the initial funnel to FIND new ideas.
Now it's up to you to RESEARCH them.
— Miles Deutscher (@milesdeutscher) November 29, 2022
7. HACK THE ALGORITHM
Now it's time to get into the fun stuff.
You're now following the top channels.
You're watching videos on 2x.
You're taking notes.
You're applying that research to take your learning a step further.
But how do you find MORE alpha?

Pancakeswap overtook Uniswap by TVL
Pancakeswap overtook Uniswap by TVL.
And Pancakeswap might soon overtake Curve as well, becoming the No. 1 DEX in #DeFi

It seems that Pancakeswap's multi-chain strategy is working.https://t.co/a9EZ8wXCn0
— Ignas.lens | DeFi Research (@DefiIgnas) November 29, 2022
Interestingly, Pancakeswap's own analytics shows different data: $2.69b on BSC + $9.53M on Ethereum.
But there's a disclaimer that "PancakeSwap Info is currently under maintenance. Data may not be accurate or up-to-date."
So @DefiLlama data is accurate? pic.twitter.com/DBd7vl8sM0

As noted by @Dynamo_Patrick, this Pancakeswap TVL data includes $CAKE staking.
Without the staking PCS is still behind Uniswap by $640m USD.
