Topline
Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” dominated Billboard’s singles and albums charts for the ninth and 11th times this year on Monday, continuing their reign as some of the most popular works of 2022 so far.
Key Facts
This marks the Styles singles’ fifth stint atop the Billboard Hot 100 since being released in April, the first song to ever have that many separate top runs on the chart.
“As It Was” has spent more weeks at No. 1 than any other song this year, and is back on track to becoming one of the longest-leading top hits in history (Lil Nas holds the record with 19 weeks for “Old Town Road”).
Un Verano Sin Ti is tied with the Encanto soundtrack as the most popular album of the year so far, with both works having spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Key Background
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, won Artist of the Year at the MTV VMAs on Sunday. Styles won Album of the Year, Best Cinematography and Best Pop. “As It Was” has topped Billboard and Spotify’s Song Of The Summer charts since Labor Day, and is a clear frontrunner for the colloquial honor. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the Encanto soundtrack and “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals have each spent five weeks this year on top of the Billboard Hot 100, the second-longest runs of the year. No other albums have come close to Un Verano Sin Ti or the Encanto soundtrack’s runs leading the Billboard 200. The only other albums to spend more than one week in the top spot were Styles’ Harry’s House and Lil Durk’s 7220, with two each.
