Ateez Outsold The Next Five Bestselling Albums In America Combined

Ateez may have missed out on securing their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest release, The World EP.2: Outlaw. Instead, the EP debuts at No. 2 on the chart, which is based on the most-consumed albums in the U.S. While that placement is still a significant achievement for the band, it is also somewhat frustrating to come so close to the top spot, falling short by only a few thousand units.

Ateez’s The World EP.2: Outlaw had a different experience on the Top Album Sales chart, which focuses solely on album purchases. It easily claimed the top position on that ranking, becoming the band’s first No. 1 album in terms of pure sales. In fact, it outsold every other title in the U.S. by a considerable margin, proving just how popular Ateez is in America at the moment.

According to numbers reported by Luminate, the company that supplies the data that supports the Billboard charts, The World EP.2: Outlaw sold approximately 101,000 copies in the United States. This made it the highest-selling album of the week.

Coming in at No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart was the latest release from rock band Queens of the Stone Age, titled In Times New Roman…, which sold close to 36,000 copies. Ateez managed to outsell Queens of the Stone Age by more than two and a half times over.

In an impressive feat, Ateez’s new EP sold so well that it actually outsold the combined sales of the next five bestselling albums on the chart. This group of albums includes releases from Queens of the Stone Age, Stray Kids, Enhypen, and Taylor Swift. The overwhelming sales performance of The World EP.2: Outlaw solidifies Ateez’s dominance in terms of album purchases during its debut week in the U.S.
