At least seven people were killed across two locations in a mass shooting incident near the city of Half Moon Bay, California on Monday, the state’s second major mass shooting incident in just three days after 11 people were gunned down at a dance hall in the Los Angeles area on Saturday.

Police found four people dead and one person injured by gunshot wounds at a farm on the outskirts of Half Moon Bay after receiving reports of a shooting at around 2.30 p.m. local time, San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus told the press.

A short while later three other people were found dead with gunshot wounds at a nearby location.

The injured victim was transported to a hospital with “life-threatening injuries,” Corpus added.

The suspected shooter, identified as 67-year-old Chunli Zhao, was arrested by police after being discovered in his vehicle which was located in the parking lot of the sheriff’s substation in Half Moon Bay.

A semi-automatic handgun was discovered in Zhao’s vehicle and he is believed to have acted alone, the sheriff said.
