Arkham Intel Firmly Denies Affiliation With US Government Amid Criticism Over Privacy

On July 11, Arkham Intel released a statement refuting allegations of its association with US government agencies. Arkham Insists It Has Not Leaked Any User Data

Blockchain intelligence company Arkham Intel denied all allegations that it is linked with the United States government after it faced massive backlash amid privacy issues over its newly-unveiled exchange.

On July 10, Arkham confirmed the rollout of Intel Exchange, the first on-chain intelligence exchange globally. The exchange empowers users to anonymously sell and buy information linked to any crypto wallet via smart contracts.

The introduction of this new solution garnered swift and severe criticism from the crypto community, who coined it as a “snitching-as-a-service” program. Despite Arkham’s attempts to highlight the positive applications of Intel Exchange in their announcement, the majority of users on crypto Twitter expressed apprehension about the potential misuse of the newly launched product.

Furthermore, certain critics went as far as speculating that Arkham may have affiliations with US government agencies like the CIA and the FBI.

Arkham vehemently denied all these claims in its Tuesday post, mentioning that it:

“Is not secretly a government project. We are not affiliated with government agencies. We’re a crypto-native team and we care about our community and industry.”

Furthermore, Arkham vehemently denied the accusations made on Monday, suggesting that the company has been involved in the unauthorized leakage and sale of its customers’ private information. These claims surfaced following the implementation of Arkham’s Weblink referral program.

Users of the platform’s wallet tracking dashboard can invite others to join by sharing their distinctive referral URLs, purportedly concluding with inconsequential characters. Nonetheless, on a closer review, they seem to be an easy-to-decipher version of the user’s email address that is written in Base64 format.

Arkham Unveils ARKM Token ICO on Binance Launchpad

Besides the exchange rollout, Arkham also confirmed the launch of its native token, ARKM, via Binance Launchpad. This project initiated an initial coin offering (ICO) for ARKM, which is scheduled to happen between July 11 and July 18.

Notably, the token is valued at $0.05, with a fundraising target of $2,500,000. Arkham is offering 1,000,000,000 ARKM tokens for sale via the offering, based on data published by ICO Drops.

Nevertheless, up to 50 million tokens will get distributed via Binance’s Launchpad, with a per-user limit of 300,000. It means that a maximum of 5% of the cumulative supply will get distributed at that stage.
