Are the Next Free Titles on the Epic Games Store worth it?

Empyrion: Galactic Survival and Outliver: Tribulation will be the two titles for users to grab as part of weekly free games on Epic Games Stores. Players can get access to these games on October 10th.

These two titles will be available until October 17, after which they will be replaced with more free games.

Currently, Epic Games Store has Bear and Breakfast as a free game available. This game allows the player to play as a bear running a bed and breakfast in the woods.  It received fair reviews at the time of its release and will be available until October 3rd at 10 a.m. CT.

Epic Games Store’s upcoming free titles may not be worth it

Empyrion: Galactic Survival, a sandbox survival game was released in 2020. This game will now be available on Epic Games Stores for the first time as a free game.  It was previously available on Steam with a fair rating of 7/10 and mostly positive reviews. However, the recent reviews on Steam are shown as mixed.

One player with the username ‘oddlike7‘ on Steam commented, “Kinda disappointed with how this game turned out. The early versions were much better, as strange as that sounds. They’re putting way too much effort into adding new things, and not enough effort into fixing and/or improving broken things. Definitely feels like an indie project by amateurs.”

The Second title for Outliver: Tribulation is also a former Steam title. It’s a survival shooter game that was released last year. The game has received just 19 reviews on Steam which fall under the positive category. However, the game falls in the horror genre which might make it a better experience for Halloween occasion.

Weekly free games are a good way to try out new titles for gamers and add them to their library. Although these games won’t cost a penny,  players may want to see the ratings of these games before investing their time in one.
