Recently, the Twitter handle of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, was spotted with a display picture containing many BAYC Bored Apes. It is not confirmed whether the SpaceX CEO has actually acquired the BAYC NFT or not.
Even if it’s not true, and even if Elon Musk had taken this step for fun, it has a huge impact on the BAYC’s native token ApeCoin.
ApeCoin To The Space
Instantly after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO changed his profile picture, ApeCoin started to surge prominently. BAYC native token was trading at a market value of $14, and suddenly took a leap of 27.2% to hang on to $17.64.
This massive surge was for a shorter timeframe as the branch from which the ApeCoin was hanging, broke, leading the BAYC native token to slip a bit. As this article was being written, ApeCoin was trading at a market value of $15.82, uptrending by 11.57% during previous 24 hours.
Whether Elon Musk got his hands on the BAYC NFT, or ApeCoin, it’s unclear at the time. But using Bored Apes as his DP on Twitter undoubtedly created a frenzy among the Ape environment.
