An Update On ‘Paradise’ Season 2 On Hulu Well Ahead Of Its Release Date

Hulu has managed to slip in some Emmy nominations this year for a brand new series, Paradise, the post-apocalyptic Sterling K. Brown drama where he plays a Secret Service agent now living in an idyllic town…miles under the earth after the world is blown up.

Paradise was renewed way back in February of this year, and now we have a new update on season 2 for the first time in a while.

The news comes from an interview with EW, in which bizarre things are discussed like the goofy idea for a Last of Us crossover, but some actual news about what’s coming. Here’s Brown on season 2 (spoilers ahead):

“Xavier’s out in the world. He’s looking for his wife, trying to find her. Is she alive? Is she not alive? Will he find her? Will he not find her? We see how people have been surviving that didn’t have the means and the planning that the people inside the bunker did. They’ve made a way. It doesn’t look as organized, obviously, but it is a way. We meet people who are benign. We meet people who are nefarious.”

And how he’s going to have to travel:

“There’s more than one way to skin a cat. Lots of ways to travel. John Candy and Steve Martin told us once upon time, there’s planes, trains, and automobiles. Remember there’s the EMP that the president launches in episode 7, so that may factor into how people get around. You can’t fly everywhere because then it would be an isolating experience. So, at some point in time, you have to get out and be amongst the people.”

The goal is to get from Colorado to Atlanta, where he believes his not-dead wife is. He also says yes, of course, that there will be plenty going on in Paradise itself, even if he is on a new mission. There will also be more of James Marsden in presidential flashbacks, but not as many as before, no doubt. Marsden is actually joining Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple for season 2 of that show, and he has also been filming Avengers: Doomsday, reprising his 20-year-old role as Cyclops.

There’s also a tease about Shailene Woodley joining the cast in season 2. She’s someone that Xavier finds on the surface, and he praises her as a person and a new friend after filming. “She’s outstanding,” he says.

What we do not have is an actual release date for Paradise season 2. The “anticipated” window is early in 2026, as the creator says he doesn’t want a huge gap between seasons. That could be a year or a year and a half, depending. But this is streaming, so likely more toward the latter.
