In a very interesting development for the legal cannabis industry, Emerald Peak Partners, a new cannabis advisory firm, has launched.
Led by veteran restructuring professionals Tom Lynch and Tim Bossidy, the firm will focus on helping businesses in the space reach their full potential and attain success.
Given the challenges gripping the legal cannabis industry since the onset of inflation and the ebbing of the pandemic, the timing of this launch could be very auspicious.
“It is the exact right time given our focus on helping companies through these challenges and setting them up for long-term success,” said an EPP spokesperson. “Emerald Peak Partners was founded to set the standard in cannabis advisory. We are here out of passion and out of a deeply held belief that cannabis companies need world-class advisors to manage incredibly complex turnarounds and restructurings. Cannabis companies require the best in executives, fiduciaries, and consultants, and we believe we are the best.”
Among the services EPP will offer include fiduciary services, such as independent director and board services, stakeholder-appointed board positions, and receivership, as well as financial restructuring and operational improvement driven through interim management, consulting, and advisory services.
When asked to give a forecast of the industry moving forward, the spokesperson replied on behalf of Lynch and Bossidy: “We think the years ahead will be both difficult and exciting. Hard because of the capital markets and the regulatory and taxation environments. But exciting because those who pull through these years will form the backbone of a large and societally important CPG and healthcare space.”
In addition to their leadership roles at EPP, both Lynch and Bossidy will maintain their current positions at SierraConstellation Partners, an interim management and advisor serving middle-market companies. Currently, Lynch is partner and president at SCP and Bossidy is a managing director.
EPP is based in Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.
