Adam Aaron, the Chief Executive Officer of AMC Entertainment has unveiled plans to accept meme-coins. Indeed, DOGE and SHIB would soon come to these Theatres. According to the latest announcement, the movie exhibition firm has shared progress in accepting meme-coins.
Meme-coins would see major adoption by March
According to the tweet shared by Aaron on Thursday, AMC Entertainment expects to accept Dogecoins and Shiba Inu crypto assets for any and all types of payments made through the company’s website and mobile application.
Furthermore, he clarified that he is being told that the movie exhibition is still well on track for the promised Q1 implementation. Notably, the firm noted that the exact month is most likely March.
The payments would be accepted through BitPay
According to an announcement made in November last year by the executive from the theatres chain, the firm will collaborate with Bitpay. Notably, the acceptance of meme-coins for payments would be processed by the crypto payments platform. At the time, the payments hub had not commenced to support SHIB. According to Aaron, the crypto coins payments processing firm decided to begin supporting the meme-based digital asset on their request.
Besides, the CEO of the AMC Entertainment also claimed that the firm will start accepting SHIB and DOGE in the first quarter itself of this year. The announcement, followed early December’s announcement when Bitpay began to support Shiba Inu as payments.
