All The Details For The ‘When We Were Young’ Fest Pre-Sale

With a promise for My Chemical Romance to play their famous The Black Parade album, the temperatures are already rising for next year’s When We Were Young Festival, which is slated for October 19, 2024 in Las Vegas .

Tickets for the fourth rendition of the popular pop-punk, emo and alternative rock festival, featuring bands from the early 2000s, go on sale November 17, just in time for the holiday gifting season. Like most concerts nowadays, a pre-sale text message or access code is needed to sign up for the pre-sale. Fans have to sign up for the SMS list at WhenWeWereYoungFestival.com to get the access code and other information for the event, which is co-hosted by Live Nation and Redrock Entertainment.

At least 53 bands are slated to rock out at the throw-back festival that is known for its nostalgia, as young Gen X and older Millennials now tend to populate the festival grounds and the exclusive – and pricey – VIP Cabana areas. In the past, the immersive fest has featured Blink-182, Paramore, Sum 41 and Green Day and has been credited with the rise of interest in classic emo bands. The immersive experience in the past has also featured carnival rides of the sort one might remember if one were old enough to have visited a cardinal in the early 2000s.

Other bands slated to perform, plus their album of note, include the following:

• Dashboard Confessional, with Dusk and Summer
• The All-American Rejects with their self-titled 2002 hit album
• Fall Out Boy
• Pierce the Veil, with 2012’s Collide with the Sky
• Mom Jeans with Best Buds
• The Maine with 2008’s Can’t Stop Won’t Stop
• August Burns Red with Constellations

Jimmy Eat World, Simple Plan, Coheed and Cambria and The Used are also part of the lineup.

The fest began in 2017 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California before moving to Winchester, Nevada to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. In 2022, the one-day event sold out so quickly that two additional dates were swiftly added. Those also sold out fast. For 2023, Green Day, Blink-182 and Pierce the Veil were among the headliners for the two-day show, which got off to a rocky start due to cancellations due to windy weather. Given this history, it is likely that more dates could be added for the 2024 fest.

Presale tickets go on sale at 10 am PT. After that, tickets to go the general public at 2 p.m. PST. As is common with most C3 events, there are several ticket types, including general admission, general admission plus, VIP and VIP Cabana, for the event which takes place just near Circus Circus off the Vegas strip. The location can hold up to 85,000 revelers. Tickets are available, with layaway payment plans, starting at $19.99 down.

Like other C3 events, the VIP packages offer a lot of bang for the buck, especially if you like space, hydration, limited lines and prime seating.

VIP packages include preferred viewing areas, charging stations, a dedicated entry lane at the festival entrance and air-conditioned restrooms.
