Algorand Appoints Michele Quintaglie as New CMO

Michele Quintaglie served as a communications executive at Fidelity Investments.
Quintaglie also worked with Visa firm for three years as global head of communication.

Algorand has hired an ex-communications executive at Fidelity Investments and Visa as its chief marketing officer. The blockchain company seeks to build its brand and reach through strategic growth initiatives.

Michele Quintaglie is assigned to help the company with its narrative development and influencer marketing and will seek sponsorship opportunities. Algorand informed a news outlet on Wednesday.

Michele Quintaglie mentioned in his statement that “Algorand represents the key values I look for in any great brand — amazing technology, global reach, proven leadership, and most importantly, a purpose-driven ethos to create technologies that offer meaningful societal and environmental impact.”

The LinkedIn profile of an ex-communications executive at Fidelity Investments mirrors that she has been working with the firm from 2005 to 2014 and after leaving this profile. She served the Visa firm for three years as global head of communication.

In recent years she has been actively working with United Technologies as global external communication and corporate marketing head, and she was also head of public affairs and head of the global for Raytheon Technologies after its merger with united technologies; later, she resigned from her post in July 2021.

Michele Quintaglie served the United Nations World Food Programme and UNICEF in the post of information officer and crisis spokeswoman.

Interim Chief Executive Officer Sean Ford highlighted in his statement that “With an extensive track record of proven success in global communications and marketing across the corporate, agency and UN development world, Michele will continue to strengthen Algorand’s profile as a leading provider of Web3 infrastructure.”

In September 2022, Algorand underwent an upgrade that made its layer 1 protocol one of the fastest in crypto. The upgrades in the Algorand network were followed by Proof of stake, which will ultimately increase the capacity of the transaction on the mainnet of Algorand.

The upgrade process has increased the transaction capacity to 6,000 transactions per second. The blockchain of Algorand has added features of cross-chain communication and transaction speed improvement with the recent upgrade to their protocol.
