Alexis Morris, Aaliyah Boston, & Haley Jones Headline Draft Prospects Invited To 2023 WNBA Draft

On Monday, 36 players will begin their journey as professional basketball players in the Women’s National Basketball Association, or the WNBA. As is custom, the league has announced 15 players who will attend the 2023 WNBA Draft live in New York City. NCAA champions Alexis Morris (LSU), Aaliyah Boston (South Carolina), and Haley Jones (Stanford) headline players attending the WNBA Draft at Spring Studio in Tribeca Monday night.

Boston’s South Carolina teammates forward Laeticia Amihere, guard Brea Beal (South Carolina), and guard Zia Cooke (South Carolina) will also be in attendance. Invited international players include Dorka Juhász (Connecticut, Hungary), Lou Lopez Sénéchal (Connecticut, Mexico), and Stephanie Soares (Iowa State, Brazil).

State Farm is once again the presenting partner for the annual event. ESPN will air the event beginning at 7 p.m. ET. League Commissioner Cathy Engelbert will announce the first-round draft picks live. The Indiana Fever hold the top pick, followed by the Minnesota Lynx, Dallas Wings and the Washington Mystics with the fourth overall pick, pending any trade deals ahead of Monday.

ESPN has also announced programming leading up to the primetime event, including a 30-minute WNBA Draft Preview Show on Saturday, April 8 hosted by LaChina Robinson and featuring ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo.
