It’s been more than half a century since Aerosmith released its debut self-titled album, and the band decided to honor that recording a few years after its milestone anniversary passed. The rock outfit recently delivered what is known as the legendary edition of Aerosmith, turning the years-old set into a collectible for longtime lovers of the group. The newly-released edition includes the original album as well as previously unreleased songs, new artwork and plenty of other goodies that super fans clearly loved.
Aerosmith debuts on multiple charts in the United Kingdom following its re-release, and it quickly becomes a bestseller in that country.
Aerosmith’s Legendary Edition Launches
This week, Aerosmith launches on four tallies in the U.K. The project debuts inside the top 40 on all but one, as it opens at No. 65 on the Official Albums Downloads ranking. Aerosmith performs significantly better on the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums and Official Vinyl Albums lists as the title debuts at Nos. 22, 23 and 32 respectively.

Several years back, Aerosmith called it quits when it came to performing live, after announcing that lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injuries would keep him from singing as he wanted. It seemed like no more may ever be heard from the group, but the loss of one superstar helped usher in an exciting new era.
The rockers reunited in 2025, as Aerosmith performed on the MTV Video Music Awards in a tribute to the late great Ozzy Osbourne. Only a short time later, the Grammy-winning troupe joined Yungblud – who was also part of the televised concert – and the two acts wrote and recorded the One More Time EP. That set became a quick No. 1 in the U.K. in late 2025, so it’s only been a matter of months since Aerosmith last celebrated a new win on the charts across the pond.
Aerosmith Earns a New Bestseller on Multiple Charts
Aerosmith earns its fourth career placement on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Vinyl Albums charts. The rock group has seen an additional two titles land on the Official Albums Downloads list.

The band has performed significantly better when looking at the Official Physical Albums chart, which details the bestselling EPs and full length that can be purchased on CD, cassette or vinyl. Since first appearing on that rundown back in early 1994, Aerosmith has sent 16 different projects to the roster. That is more than on the Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads and Official Vinyl Albums tallies combined.
Aerosmith Reaches a New Career Low
As it debuts, Aerosmith’s self-titled release brings the group to a new all-time low on the Official Vinyl Albums chart. Previously, only Pump, the rock troupe’s first win, failed to enter the top 10, as it spent one week at No. 28 back in April 2020. Since then, both Greatest Hits and the One More Time EP with Yungblud have climbed inside the loftiest tier, with One More Time EP running the show for a single period.
Aerosmith and “Dream On” Began the Band’s Career
Aerosmith introduced itself to the world with its namesake project in January 1973. While the studio LP made essentially no commercial impact in the U.K. – that is, until this week – it was far more successful in America. Aerosmith rose to No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified multi-platinum after selling several million copies.
Aerosmith was led by lead single “Dream On,” which remains one of the band’s most celebrated smashes. That cut became a Billboard Hot 100 hit, and it stalled on the tally at No. 59. That was a far more impressive placement half a century ago than it is considered today.
